Portraits with 2 year olds are always a challenge but with a little bribing (and with a lot of patience) I can work through the tears and running away to get some beautiful portraits. This was EJ's third session with me. He came in for Fall Meadow portraits with his newborn baby brother and cousins; he also visited for Portraits with Santa.
For this session we were coming up with a themes to go along with Maddox, Lilly, and Rylee's. The idea of brining the family's John Deer pedal tractor came up. I love when families bring in their heirlooms to include, they make the photographs mean that much more! I included in an antique, very worn banjo that was hanging in our house with the idea of him possibly holding it in a small chair.
As sessions with toddlers go; they run the show. I sit and wait for the little moments of stillness and connection - this was no different. After a few tears and a lollypop those little moments happened leading to the creation of timeless tiny farmer themed portraits.
