Local professional photographer wins 8 state image competition awards including Photographer of the Year
[CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA] – Cartersville photographer, Alisha Cline, recently earned 8 prestigious awards at the annual gathering of the state’s photographic trade association; including Georgia Photographer of the Year.
The Georgia Professional Photographers Association (GPPA) held the annual image competition in conjunction with its 2018 Exposed photography expo and tradeshow. Cline’s image, Midnight Massacre was selected as the 1st Place in the Open Photographic, Portrait of a Man category by a panel of eminent jurors from across the United States with the score of 100. The image was also awarded Best in Show – Portraits. Cline’s images “Lady of the House” was selected as the 2nd Place in the Portraits of a Pet or Animal category, “Corporate Kid’s Commute” placed 2nd and “Ready to Strike” placed 3rd in the Portraits of a Teen category, and “A Slice of Americana” placed 2nd in the Photojournalism category. All eight of her image entries received Merit scores, with a case average of 85 - she was awarded Photographer of the Year and the Professional Photographers of America’s (PPA)” Certified Professional Photographer Award”. The competition, which had nearly 200 entries from the state of Georgia and beyond, was judged against a strict standard of excellence comprised of 12 specific elements. This year’s event was held October 5-8 in Savannah, GA.
